Driving Directions: From I-5: Take exit #68, and head east on Hwy. 12 about three miles. At Jackson Hwy., turn right, heading south. Continue about three miles to park entrance. You are looking for Group Site 2, (drive past site 1 on the right) which is located on the left side of the road, marked with a large wooden sign. Once in the drive, there will be a large parking lot about a block forward, on the left. Park here. Our particular area is spread out in a U shape surrounding the parking lot, there will be sinage posted just to cover all bases. Overall the directions are very straightforward and do not include a lot of winding and twisting and strange back roads.
Food Cache: This year, in order to help cover food we are planning to stock up ahead of time with donations, and then transport said food
to the campsite in order to help accomodate a "Public Kitchen". At your domain games, a representative will have a box in order to
collect items. Acceptable donation ideas are:
Hotdogs / Buns
Condiments (Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, Salt, Pepper, Relish, Motor oil for Redcaps)
Plasticware and Paper Plates / Cups
Marshmellows!
Canned goods, beans, stew, chili, etc
Coffee, Cream
Pancake batter, Syrup
Soda...or Windsheild Wiper Fluid if you're a Redcap.
Tips and Suggestions and Notes
Our group will be the only one in this area over the weekend so have a little space to spread.
The giant field with the picinic table will be certainly mowed by August. The ground in this area of the old growth forest stays
moist for some time.
It is advisable to bring tarps with which to pitch your tent on top of. Most of the campground is grass-covered as opposed to solid dirt
so in the (sad) event that it may rain near to the date, the ground could potentially be damp.
Wood is available for $4/bundle, you are allowed to bring your own. Do not collect your own on-site.
Although there are many park benches, it is advisable that you bring your own camp-chairs if possible. Tenters will have to share pockets of camp-space.
If you are bringing an RV, you must let us know ahead of time, there *is* a parking fee for that, no-hookups.
There is no electricity, all cooking will have to done via fire or propane stove.
As a point of interest, there is directly across the way from our grounds, an open use Equestrian Park where people may ride their horses around the woods on trails.
For anyone who would like to attend, but isn't sure about crash space, tents, or has other concerns/questions, please feel free
to email us, and we will be happy to help get you situated!
Pictures of some of the camp areas, tents can be set up anywhere in these spaces. Right, the fire-ring.
On the left is an area for tenting or general use, on the right is the field for games, etc.
